MARCO STRANO
Painter, Scenographer, Art Director, Musician, Marco Strano directed for the Teatro greco di Taormina, “ the Aida of Giuseppe Verdi , as Director and Scenographer. Born in Padova, Italy in 1963, graduated in Scenography and Theatrical Costume Design , Academy of Fine Arts of Venice in 1985.
Marco Strano’s research in recent years has been accompanied by a fairly shameless use of the painting techniques favoured by today’s avant-garde. He believe a painting’s surface and material play fundamental roles in conveying messages that are be diversified as required by the subject and the theme that the artist consider. Mr Strano uses various types of support and material, wax, and building materials like tar and cable sheath. He believes that the importance that has been ascribed to the use of so few techniques in art history inextricably linked to the particulars signified requires re-dimensioning.
